Season 6 runner-up Blake Lewis will release his second album on October 6 with Tommy Boy Entertainment. The album, “Heartbreak on Vinyl,” will show Blake’s shift from pop-rock to dance-pop music. Blake was inspired by over 10 years in the dance scene, and said the album will be “filled with electro pop goodness with melodies I cherish.” Currently, Blake is in the studio finishing up the album with help from producers Rodney Jerkins (who has worked with Britney Spears and Lady Gaga) and Dave Aude (who has worked with the Pussycat Dolls) to create his new high-energy beats. For an exclusive first listen of Blake’s new single, “Sad Song,” check out PEOPLE.com on July 21.
Blake’s first album, “Audio Day Dream,” was released in December of 2007 and made it to #10 on the Billboard 200. He won over viewers on American Idol with his ability to spice up a song with his beatboxing talent. In fact, Blake sang and beatboxed for First Lady Michelle Obama at the 2009 Congressional Clubs’ First Lady’s Luncheon.
