2008 US Olympic Boxing Disgrace Leaves Gold Medal Opportunities Dehydrated

Boxing has been a heritage of the USA in Olympic games going back over 100 years.  The US statistics for medals has been staggering, delivering such amazing greats as Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier and George Foreman.  Who watched the 1968 Olympics and does not remember George waving the American flag after winning his bout to take the Gold?!

Other American boxing champions have emerged from the Olympic stage demonstrating America’s great boxing heritage.  Sugar Ray Leonard, Oscar de la Hoya, and Ray Mercer are all greats that won Gold in their respective Olympics.

We noticed this year that the coverage in the Olympic Boxing events on television was non-existant.  We couldn’t seem to find a single match being publicized on the news or on NBC’s coverage.

We decided to find out why, and we were discouraged when we did.  It was the sad performance of the US Boxing team.  We sent nine boxers to these Olympics; only one managed to medal, and that was for a Bronze. Deontay Wilder managed to get into a semi-final round against defending world champion, Italy’s Clemente Russo.  Russo outclassed Wilder easily, taking the Gold.  Three of our other boxers lost in their very first fight.

Even Rau’shee Warren lost in the flyweight class in his first bout against South Korea’s Lee Oksung.  In a close decision, Warren lost 9-8, leaving him in tears instead of on the Olympic podium.

In another case, one of our US contenders didn’t even make the ring. Gary Russell Jr. passed out before the weigh-in and was disqualified.  It was later determined he had dehydrated so much he lost consciousness. That is bad coaching, but the blame game is alive and well, and the coaches blamed Gary.  They should have been on top of Russell all the way!!  That is their job!  How could they let a boxer that has trained for years pass out and later try to explain it away as his fault??  Were the coaches too busy downing Tsingtaos? Well that would explain why they didn’t get dehydrated themselves.

Some have blamed the judging, saying that the American style of boxing is out of fashion in the Olympics.  Perhaps, but Gary didn’t even make it to the ring, and from what we could see of the matches we could dig up, the US just had no heart and no chance.

In five consecutive Olympics, the United States has won three Gold medals, a sad tally that cannot be easily explained.  Prior to that, the US boxing team had consistently delivered strong results at the Olympics.  From 1904 through 2004, US boxers have won 104 medals in boxing, more than any other country.  America’s teams had also won 48 Gold medals.  Again the most in the world!! All this despite our abysmal showing over the last 20 years.   In 1976 the US won 7, 5 Gold.  In 1984, 11, 9 Gold.  In 1988, 7.  In 2008, 1, a Bronze.

We are asking our readers for reasons.  Please comment.  Is this because the US has gotten lazy.  Is it just horrible planning and coaching?  Could the rest of the world have suddenly surpassed the entire US in boxing?  We are at a loss, and unfortunately, so are our Olympics Boxers.

Deontay Wilder, the only US contingent in Boxing who garnered Bronze in the heavyweight (91kg/201lbs) fight with Mohammed Arjaoui of Morocco .

Demetrius Andrade, the reigning welterweight (69kg/152lbs) wold champion takes loss from South Korea’s Kim JungJoo Kim

Arab-American Sadam Ali is defeated by Georgian Popescu of Romania in the Lightweight (60kg/132lbs) division. Ali was eliminated in the first round.

Shawn Estrada lost in the quarterfinals to James Degale of Great Britain in the middleweight (75kg/165lbs) division.

u

Javier Molina lost in his first light welterweight (64kg/141lbs) bout against Bulgaria’s Boris Georgiev, 14-1.

Rau’shee Warren lost in his opening fight against South Korea’s Lee Oksung in the flyweight (51kg/112lbs)

Raynell Williams is defeated by Khedafi Djelkhir of France in his second fight in the featherweight (57kg/125lbs).

Luis Yanez lost to Serdamba Purevdorj of Mongolia in the light flyweight (48kg/106lbs) bout.

Gary Russell Jr didn’t even make it to fight in the bantamweight (54kg/119lbs) division as he collapsed from dehydration before the competition began.

US Basketball All-Star Closer to Redemption. Advances into Olympic Gold Final After Defeating Defending Champs Argentina!

By Evan Roessle, Guest Writer

Was this to be a repeat of the 2004 Olympics in Athens? Team USA began that Gold medal game vs. an Argentinean team led by Manu Ginobilli. The US team’s inability to knock down three point field goals was evident as they lost 98-90, but what was more disturbing was the seeming lack of heart and the inability of the US to perform as a team.

Ginobilli scored 29 points, dominating the game with his effective three point shooting. Fabricio Oberto, Andres Nocioni, and Carlos Del Fino rounded out the field for Argentina, beating Team USA. The defeated US team was led by led by Tim Duncan, Allen Iverson, and Kobe Bryant who were never able to become comfortable with one another.

This year, the team has been constructed differently, requiring players to commit three off seasons to Team USA. This has allowed Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, and Carmelo Anthony to gel, and become comfortable playing as a cohesive team.

As the game began, Team USA ran up a huge early lead, going up 21-4 in the first quarter. Argentina was playing their game from there and began to chip away, cutting the lead to nine by half time, but Manu Ginobilli, Argentina’s most important player had been lost to an ankle injury. Typically this would indicate a blow out by Team USA in the second half.

Luis Scola and Carlos Del Fino of Argentina took up the slack. Scola dominated down low, using his slick back-to-the-basket moves to score 28 points while Del Fino continued his hot shooting from outside, scoring 17 pts.

On the US side, Carmelo Anthony was the catalyst, scoring 21 points and converting all 13 of his free throw attempts. Chris Bosh and Dwight Howard combined for 20 rebounds, solidifying the low post defensively.

Howard also had two blocks contributing to strong defense throughout the game. After winning easily once again, 101 to 81, Team USA will face Spain in the Gold medal game. This will be a rematch of the group level game where Team USA disposed of Spain like a used Kleenex, embarrassing them by nearly 40 points.

If the United States can win they will return to the Gold Medal status they demonstrated in the Sidney games in 2000. People forget, the US only had one bad game in 2004 despite not playing up to their capabilities, and still made the Gold round. This year, the team is vastly improved and looks unbeatable.

Spain is likely to have learned from their earlier whooping. Expect them to come out playing tenacious defense and sinking 3s. If they can get by their desire to be Chinese, they could work the US Team and play them tight, but if they run around pulling the skin around their eyes into an oriental shape, they may find it difficult to hold onto the ball.

Top Ten Reasons Why the Chinese Cheat In Olympic Women’s Gymnastics

The question that is most often asked is why did China cheat? China cheated in the 2008 Women’s Gymnastics by sending girls well under the age of 16 to compete in Olympic gymnastics, but why?  What did China and their gymnastics team gain by cheating and lying to the remaining Olympic teams?

This article presents the top 10 reasons in reverse order of importance.

10.  Female athletes past the age of 16 are physically developed and have weight distribution that is quite different from younger gymnasts.  In some events, this provides an advantage to girls less developed. It is easier for them to perform many of the exercises. Most that have won gold are 16 or younger.

9.   Psychology has much to do with the issue.  Older athletes feel the pressure more than children who are not mature enough to possess the same feelings of pressure and stress. Younger kids worry less.  Experienced coaches know this.  Bela Karolyi, the former coach of Olympic gold  medalists Nadia Comaneci and Mary Lou Retton, was interviewed before the Chinese performed, and said, “This young Chinese team (is) using 14-15 year olds, all kids, they have no pressure…”.

8. Younger girls appear to be less prone to injury.  Whether this is because of flexibility issues or some other reason is not known. Some of these statistics can be seen here.

7. Pressure is another factor related to 9 above. For older girls there is much less of chance of repeating in the Olympics.  That makes it a much more do or die scenario.  The younger girls can look at it more as just another competition or preparation for future games taking the pressure off.

6. A nation choosing to violate the rules and enter younger girls into the Olympics allows the girls to acquire more experience in the Olympics at a younger age.  Sneaking in 12-14 year olds allows those athletes to return at 16-18 well seasoned in Olympic competition giving the team better odds of delivering winners.  Most 16 year olds in the competition will likely not be able to compete again in future Olympics due to age issues and injury, but a 12-14 year old is guaranteed, if she remains healthy, to have a solid opportunity to repeat.  Essentially, for most women gymnasts, their career is over by 18.

5. The Olympics are only once every 4 years!! Some of your best talent may never get a chance to compete.  Girls that are 15 are excluded from the Olympics.  Their probability of maintaining their level of excellence, avoiding injury and surviving as competitors given the general pressures of teen-hood for four years, and then performing in their first Olympics at 19-20 is slim.  China’s dishonesty takes advantage of all the countries that could not send girls that were within just months or days of the requirement.

4. Smaller Framed women have less of a chance of going out of bounds during floor exercises because they can execute the same move in a shorter distance.

3.  Prescreening. Some girls can perform when in practice, but cannot in the stadium.  This provides the team a chance to screen the participants prior to giving them key positions on the team for future competitions.

2. Psychological advantage.  The girls on competing teams know the other girls are cheating to take an advantage and it impacts their performances.

1. First and foremost, sneaking in underage girls widens the field of prospects considerably. If you are limited to just girls over 16, you have a much narrower field to select from.  A girl 2 months shy of the deadline, healthy and with as good a prospects as a girl only 2 months her senior cannot be considered, even if the older girl is injured or is not as talented.  China could consider everyone because they are dishonest and have no problem with cheating to get the best of their girls to the Olympics.  Many American Olympic gymnastic athletes had injuries, but because the USA follows the rules, many 15 year olds that were readily available could not take their place.  The US had to enter the all-around competition with numerous injured athletes.

Deng LinLin of China walks by Nastia Liukin and Alicia Sacramone during the Women’s Gymnastics Team Finals in Beijing, China on August 13,2008.

Conclusion

China’s cheating hurts everyone.  It is a disgrace.  And it isn’t the first time.  The Chinese were caught “red” handed in the 2000 Olympics lying to the world and got caught. It hurts all our girls that could not go and may never get the chance to go.   And every girl they cheat from other nations out of an opportunity comes at a stiff price to that country and their potential medalists.  China is not only cheating, they are stealing from those nations and participants that obey the rules.

We believe China should be suspended from the next Olympic games entirely as the truth comes out and everyone realizes that they cheated once again.

Beach Volleyball Olympic Double Gold, Dalhausser/Rogers in US GOLD RUSH!! Misty May/Kerri Combine for History!

The USA Team struck gold outplaying the Brazilian team, once gain proving that the color of the Brazilian flag is yellow and green.  There is no gold.

Dalhausser (The Thin Beast) and Rogers (The Professor) fell behind early 6-1 and looked like today was not their day.

But they fought back in that first set to win 23-21.  Yes, that close.

In the second set it was point for point.  At 11-10 US, Rogers blew it past the Brazilians.  12-10.

The Brazilians gave up an easy point, Rogers set up Dalhouser for a mean spike.  13-10.

Dalhausser block went out of bounds. 13-11.

Brazilian Service Ace with the Americans staring.  13-12.

Another great service.  13-13.   Uh oh.

Brazil plays nice touch ball and takes a 14-13 lead.  4 unanswered points.

Are the American’s champs?  Let’s see…

Rogers incredible shot from well behind the net blows past the Brazilians.  14 all.

Rogers could not get a clean return on the next volley and it hit sand.  14-15.

Great volley next, and Dalhausser makes a smash that catches the line by a hair.  15 all.

Fabio Spike.  Dalhausser has not been able to block it hardly at all.  15-16.

Rogers Spike, stuffed by Marcio.  In your face.  15-17.

Dalhausser into the net.  15-18.  Oh no.  And 8-2 scoring run.

Beautiful Dalhausser set, Rogers Kill.  16-18.

Fabio Spike. 16-19.

4 set points Brazil 16-20.  Sad play by the Americans and stellar Brazilian play makes for a Brazilian set.

Rogers doesn’t let it go easy.  17-20.

Brazil Ace.  17-21.  Set Brazil.  1-1.

OK, now it was time for someone to come to the table.  It was Dalhausser.  His serve was mean.  The US went up fast 6-1 in the shortened set.

Dalhausser and Rogers have won the last 13 matches that went to 3 sets and haven’t lost a 3rd set since 2006.  That does not take into consideration sets in which they were up 6-1.

Stuff Dalhausser 7-1.  The smash wasn’t working like it was earlier for Fabio, and the Thin Beast was eating him alive now.  Fabio (Jaws) had no teeth left and Dalhausser wasn’t going to let him spike with aplomb anymore.

Serve amazing to Fabio, Dalhausser stuff, 8-1 US!!

Wash, Rinse, Repeat.  9-1 US!!

Finally, a Brazilian score.  9-2.

No country has ever doubled in beach volleyball.  The next Brazilian serve went into the net.  10-2 US and the Brazilian team looked spent.

Fabio tried a spike, but it went long.  11-2 US.  No way Brazil can come back from this.

Long US.  11-3.  Brazilians don’t quit.

Nice serve by Brazil, but touch is what it is all about, and a perfect light touch drop shot left the Brazilians staring at each other.  12-3.

Dalhausser block goes out.  12-4.

Brazil service out.  13-4 US!!

Light serve by Rogers, Brazil spike OOB!!  14-4!!  Set/Match Point.  Set/Match Point.  Set/Match Point…GOLD MEDAL OLYMPICS!!

Stuff and block Dalhausser.  Bye bye Brazil.  Stick to Yellow.  Gold belongs to the Beast, the Professor and the USA!!

With Misty May Treanor and Kerri Walsh winning yesterday, this is the first time in history a nation has won both the women’s and men’s beach volleyball Gold in the same year.

UPDATED: Myrealitytelevision.com Told You China Cheats, Now There is Proof!! American Women’s Gymnastics Team May Yet Get Olympic Gold!

We have reported for days that China is cheating in these Olympics.  Our articles have challenged the International Olympics Committee for their apparent inability to enforce their own rules.  We have also alleged the Chinese Gymnastics team and the Chinese government are cheating in these Olympics.   We do not stop there.  We feel this is not just cheating; there have been criminal acts perpetrated to execute this fraud on the world and our Olympic athletes.

China sent vastly underage girls to the games.  As we have stated in our prior articles, the minimum age for qualification in Olympics gymnastics competition is 16.   Records found by Sports Illustrated and the New York Times have already clearly demonstrated the Chinese government committed numerous crimes including forgery.  These are crimes for which we in the US would go to prison, but the Chinese authorities violate them with aplomb.

The International Olympic Committee has finally put on their glasses, but it took pressure from the media and a computer expert before they finally decided to formally investigate the age of Chinese gymnast He Kexin.

International Olympic Committee (IOC)  president Jacques Rogge had irresponsibly deferred authority for enforcing the age limit to China’s Gymnastics Federation, ignorantly leaving the fox to police the henhouse.  Evidence was staring the IOC in the face, but now the evidence is so strong that China’s Gymnastics Federation are complicit criminals, the IOC has no choice.

Michael Walker, a United States computer security expert, was able to track down two documents deleted by the Chinese. The documents clearly show that He Kexin was born in 1994, making her 14.  The Chinese had attempted to delete these documents when first confronted with their fraud.

If this evidence bears out, and it now looks irrefutable, this also means that China coached the young girls on the Chinese gymnastics team to lie.  He Kexin, in interviews with the media, continually claimed to be 16 years of age.  Only training by coaches and other adults could have led this beautiful young innocent girl to lie on the global stage.  What unimaginable child abuse!

This has enormous medal ramifications.  It could mean the American Gymnasts will get the Gold medal for the all around when China finally gets embarrassed for their disgrace and the medals are stripped from the Chinese team.

This didn’t serve the girls on the Chinese gymnastics team, it did not serve the Chinese people, and it clearly demonstrates a Chinese government that is out of touch and operating as criminals in an international forum.  It also brings into doubt the results of all events that favored the Chinese throughout these Olympics.

One has to wonder, if this cockroach has now risen from the kitchen cupboard, how many others are hiding in the crevices?   How many other ways is China cheating in these Olympics and in the world?

How many other subtle manipulations in these Olympics could have allowed China to outperform?  A criminal doesn’t stop at one opportunity to deceive and rob others. Could there have been sabotage of other Olympic teams in these games?  Our guess is that many deceitful and criminal activities will come to light proving that the Chinese government is more criminal than we can imagine.

The IOC ostriches have finally been forced to take their heads out of the sand.  Let’s hope they expose the Chinese government for the miscreants they are and embarrass them in front of the world as the Chinese medals are stripped from their teams one by one.

NBC Confirms Myrealitytelevision.com’s accusations of China Cheats!!

Long after we posted our article showing evidence had confirmed our accusation of China for cheating, the following video was released by NBC.

We have continually been criticized for our call that the Chinese cheated. But it is now out in the open. The US will likely get the overall gymnastics Gold as China walks away in shame.

Now, as it turns out, as we have continually stated, as many as 3 of the gymnasts may be under age.

Where else are the Chinese cheating? Own any Chinese stocks? May be time to sell!!

Update: 22 August 2008

IOC Complicit With Chinese Authorities in Olympic Fraud

The IOC just hours after opening an investigation into under age Chinese gymnasts, dismissed clear evidence demonstrating that as many as three of the Chinese gymnasts were under age.

In an article released last night, Yahoo said the parents were “indignant”.  To whom?  China does not have free borders.  Certainly this indignance has to be towards other Chinese that know these girls are under age and are facing down the parents that have been rewarded or forced to lie by the Chinese government.

The IOC is attempting to brush this under the rug quickly, despite absolute proof China cheated in prior Olympics.  And in so doing, they are complicit with the criminal acts of the Chinese government.  Does this involve bribes or threats by the Chinese?

It has been obvious that the judges in these Olympics have favored the Chinese athletes, consistently delivering scores that marginally guaranteed Chinese medals.  If the judges are so easily manipulated, it is not hard to imagine that same manipulation of a spineless and useless body such as the IOC.

We believe the evidence, not the farcical characters in the IOC.  China cheated.  The IOC will come under intense pressure going forward to address the issue.  And if they don’t, others will bring the evidence that they themselves are criminals and should be removed.

One example of obvious fraud was reported by the Associated Press.  The birth date of Yang Yilin was listed from 2004 to 2006 on official national registration lists posted by the General Administration of Sport of China to be Aug. 26, 1993.  Now it is suddenly 1991?    Please!!   Don’t question the world’s intelligence.

The IOC is criminal if they do not act.  And China is criminal in their forgeries and deception.  We do not bite on the “Chinese just look younger” argument.  Maybe they do slightly, but 16 year olds do NOT look 11-13.  The Chinese government tried to brush it under the rug using this same argument that Koreans and Japanese girls looked just as young.  No, they didn’t.  No other team looked an average age of 13.

This is a sad day because it is obvious the IOC could not possibly have conducted any investigation whatsoever in the few hours they took to respond, but we beleive this is far from over.  We believe after the Olympics have passed, the pressure will rise to a boiling point and the IOC will once again have to raise their heads out of the sand.  Hopefully this time it will be have them cut off.

Another Reason China Cheated In the 2008 Olympics

This article sums it up quite well, so we won’t repeat it. There were financial gains to be made by the Chinese by manipulating the medal outcome.

By paying off judges, entering underage girls in the gymnastics and pressuring the world to get a basement game, ping pong, into the Olympics, the Chinese guaranteed more medals, all to line their pockets at the world’s expense.

They had to pay for those elaborate game shows somehow right?

Disaster In Olympics Lolo Jones Stumbles, Dawn Harper Gold in Women’s 100 M Hurdles

Lolo Jones had this race to the next to last hurdle.  It was looking like Gold, and it would translate to real gold in endorsements and other opportunities.  But she felt the Gold around her neck too soon and the weight was too much to bear.

As she reached the next to last hurdle, she leaped too soon clipping the top of the hurdle with her shoe and stumbling.  As she tried to recover for the next hurdle, she completely lost her rhythm and all but one runner passed her before the finish.

Lolo collapsed in frustration.  Her response to the race, “I usually hit a hurdle and mess up twice a year, it just sucks that it was the most important race of my life”.

Sigh.  This may have cost Lolo millions in one stumble, and it cost the US the 1-2 finish.  But congratulations go out to American Hero and champion Dawn Harper who gets the Gold!!!  Winning is for Champions.  Lolo today, was not.  Dawn was.

Dawn Harper Wins Gold

“Insane Bolt” Sets World Record #2 for Jamaica, Usain Takes Gold Easily! US Disqualified, Takes Silver & Bronze

“Insane Bolt” Sets World Record #2 for Jamaica, Usain Takes Gold Easily

Usain Bolt is a proud man. He looks straight in the camera, pounds his chest and says, “I am number one”. You know what? He is!!!

This man blew out the crowd in the Men’s 200 Meter and has been “Insane Bolt” for this entire Olympics. No man runs like him, no man. Maybe a cheetah or two though so watch out in the all around mammal competition.

As he made the final turn, it was the last time anyone had hope. He turned it on and smoked a 19.30 for a world record.

In the 100 Meter he also smoked the field at 9.69 and set a world record. This man isn’t fast, he is INSANE!!

Congratulations Usain. You are a Jamaican Olympic Hero and the US and the World are in awe of your accomplishments!!

Stay Between The Lines, OR LOSE!! USA Disqualified, Still Takes Silver & Bronze!!

Sometimes, just playing by the rules and showing up wins. Walter Dix would have been fifth in the Men’s 200 Meter and Shawn Crawford would have placed third and taken the Bronze medal if things remained as they seemed.

But wait!! There are rules in the 200 Meter. There are lanes. And if you step outside your lane, even once, you LOSE! Wallace Spearmon, of the US, already celebrating his Silver medal, was told he had been disqualified. Sadly, he gave up his flag and walked off the field.

But even as the sadness of a US Silver disqualification was announced, in examining the tape, it was apparent that Churandy Martina of the Antilles, who had taken fourth, also stepped on the line.

Walter was awarded the bronze. Dix was humble, feeling he lost the race. But Walter forgets, if you don’t follow da rules ya don’t win!! And Walter, you were the third fastest man on that track that played by the rules. Congratulations on your medal. We are proud to have you in that elite crowd of American track athletes.

Congratulations to Shawn Crawford as well, the US Silver Medalist.

USA 1-2-3 In Olympic 400 Meter, Gold, Silver, Bronze!

Defending Olympic champion Jeremy Wariner was defeated by LaShawn Merritt, and the U.S. swept the medals in the Olympics 400 meters.

It wasn’t close as one might expect. Merritt’s time was 43.75 seconds. Wariner, finished in 44.74.

David Neville, dove head-first across the finish line to gain the Bronze in 44.80.
Wariner will still have a chance at Gold, but this time with Merritt on his side in the 1600 Meter relay.

Golden Boy, LaShawn Merritt

Jeremy Wariner, Takes Silver Medal

David Neville, Bronze Medallist

China Boos As Horton Takes Gymnastics Silver Medal, China Takes Gold

Even the Chinese booed as the score for Jonathan Horton of the US Men’s Gymnastic team came up just behind Zou Kai of China.  Horton had put in the performance of his life.  Flawless execution throughout, and the audience knew it.  And Doctor Suess would be proud!

Jonathan would have easily taken Gold if not for a single step forward on the toughest dismount in the competition.  Had he stuck that landing, it would have easily been Gold.

But even with that small step, the judges could have been vastly more generous and it seems like every time the judging is close, the judges ensure the Chinese have that small fraction of a point they need to win.

Jonathan scored a 16.175 to Zou Kai’s 16.200.  That is right, once again, a Chinese Olympic Athlete wins by hundredths of a point.  So coincidental that it always seems to be the Chinese that benefit from the crucially close calls.  The last amazing coincidence being Nastia Liukin, taking Silver in a tie when she clearly won the event.

Seems an insult to the study of statistics.

Congratulations Jonathan.  It was Gold in our book!!
