A ballroom dancer, she’s a bit frightened by contemporary, but relieved to know she’s been assigned her own style for the first week of competition: “I’ll definitely be on my game. Especially since it’s [ballroom]. There’s no wrongdoing. And if there is, you just fake it till the end!”

I was born in Venezuela and came to the USA at 8 years old with my mom, dad, brother, and sister. My father abandoned us a year after arriving to the U.S. My mother raised us alone in a new country. I started dancing shortly after I was picked from a school-wide audition. I took all my feelings, emotions, and bad/good experiences and used them as fuel for my dancing.

Ellenore has dance in her blood: “I labeled myself as a contemporary dancer for the show, however [executive producer] Nigel [Lythgoe] coined the term Lockerina because my father is a pop-and-locker and my mother is a ballerina, so I fused the two together and made a ballet/pop-locking solo! Jakob Karr is a sophomore at Fordham University in New York. In 2008, he was named New York City Dance Alliance’s National Senior Outstanding Dancer. In addition to dancing, he also enjoys scuba diving.

How did it feel on the recent day with the press and photo shoot? “I am so excited. This is the first time I’ve ever done a real photo shoot. The glitz and glamour is so exciting and I can’t wait to get in front of the camera.” (FOX)
