First Out Gay WWE Superstar Criticises Company For Touring United Arab Emirates

“Why do we bring the best entertainment into a country like Abu Dhabi and they look down upon women and gays?”

1. 35-year-old professional wrestler Darren Young (real name Fred Rosser) has taken to Twitter to air his distain for WWE’s decision to tour the United Arab Emirates, a country where homosexuality is a crime.

2. According to Wrestlezone.com, the now-deleted tweet stated:

Why do we bring the best entertainment into a country like abu dhabi and they look down upon women and gays? I get it! #MillionsofDollars

3. Young made headlines in 2013 when he came out to TMZ, becoming the first ever openly gay performer in WWE history.

4. Moments after Young deleted the tweet, he posted the following responses:

6. This drew a lot of support from fans online:

@DarrenYoungWWE you have so many backs that you aren’t noticing that people have yours. They do.

— Higgsboson__ (@Reality)

@DarrenYoungWWE You’re a real inspiration to a lot of fans including myself, and it’s just from you being you. I & we all got your back 🙂

— Silverback_cp (@Silverback)

@DarrenYoungWWE Props to you for speaking your mind. You have my respect.

— Chad_D_722 (@Chad)

@DarrenYoungWWE we have your back!

— brooklynmike21 (@50 Shades of Mike)

10. Including from WWE performers Sean “X-Pac” Waltman and Lance Storm.

@DarrenYoungWWE 1 more right here that has your back!

— TheRealXPac (@Sean Waltman)

I hope @DarrenYoungWWE is feeling the love and support tonight. A lot of people showing support. Stay strong brother.

— LanceStorm (@Lance Storm)

12. WWE has since released a statement regarding Young’s comments, stating they’re going ahead with the tour.

WWE

WWE does not discriminate against individuals regardless of age, race, religion or sexual orientation, and we continue to proudly support Fred Rosser (aka WWE Superstar Darren Young) for being open about his sexuality.

Unfortunately, WWE cannot change cultures and laws around the world, and thus we did not send Fred Rosser to the United Arab Emirates for our upcoming events for his own protection.

WWE also fully supports Fred Rosser’s right to express his views on personal social media accounts rather than WWE’s corporate platforms.

American Idol 8 Tour Rehearsal: “Don’t Stop Believing” By Journey

The Idols run through their finale song at their rehearsal space before hitting the road- the classic Journey Song: “Don’t Stop Believing.” The American Idol Summer Live Tour kicks off in Portland, OR at the Rose Garden on July 5.

Sorry we’re not watching. Not paying to see Michael Sarver, Scott McIntyre and Lil Rounds mess up sing. Lil showed so much promise in the auditions and was an early favorite but she never delivered. Too bad. We think she really lost a lot of her fans- including us.

We want to see Alexis Grace!! We’ll pay to watch her perform anytime.

Dancing With the Stars Winter Live Tour Full Schedule

Dancing with the Stars is bringing together 4 Stars and 10 Professional Dancers in a live tour all across North America in 38 days covering 37 cities beginning December 17, 2008 in California and culminating in Pennsylvania on February 8, 2009.

If you’re a fan, this is your chance to see the cast perform the show’s highlight of dances- unfortunately, you won’t get to see 2008 reigning champion, Brooke Burke in the tour.

The Cast

Lance Bass, Maurice Green, Toni Braxton and Marlee Matlin are the only stars performing. Multi-Grammy winner Toni Braxton promises not only to dance but sing her biggest hits as well. That should be a treat for the aficionados! We wonder if N’Sync member Lance Bass is singing too?

Maksim Chmerkovskiy leads the cast of professional dancers alongside Mark Ballas, Cheryl Burke, Derek Hough, Kym Johnson, Alec Mazo, Fabian Sanchez, Edyta Sliwinska and Karina Smirnoff- all of whom are stars in their own rights.

New this season Lacey Schwimmer, best known as a reality TV contestant herself from Season 3 of So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) completes the roll. She is expected to attract not only DWS fans but fans of SYTYCD as well. She will be a refreshing addition to the tour with her unique style and choreography.
