Who Won The Vice Presidential Debate 2008?

This debate is normally relatively ignored. It is not considered important in general, and it usually does not draw much of an audience.  This year was played up as being different.

We watched this debate, and from our vantage point, neither candidate made it worth watching.  Biden was interrupting and off topic, focusing on attacking McCain and Bush rather than addressing the actual issues and the future.  His personal focus was on the “little guy”.  Palin was obviously nervous.  She focused on her ticket’s future agenda.  From a personal perspective, she focused on moms and identifying with family and people in America.

Palin was not aggressive enough or mean enough to deal with an opponent bent on negative and accusatory politics.  She also does not have the background to really debate the past in Washington.

Palin did come across as a very positive, forthright and honest person.  We believe America will like her and identify with her more than with Biden.

Our main complaint in Palin’s comments is she keeps on blaming Wall Street, and she should focus more on policies that created an environment that not only made bad loans possible, but encouraged them.  And those policies have been in place for decades, but were most strongly pushed in the late 1980s.

We don’t see either candidate swaying the partisan vote, or even the undecided.  We are not saying the debate was a waste of time, but it didn’t present anything new.  The bottom line we see from both parties is they both want change going forward having learned from past mistakes.  Biden seemed more bent on criticizing the past, but we find that funny seeing as he has been around for three decades.  We understand though.  It is the in thing to hate Bush.  Other than that, it was just basically a repeat of the policies already stated in the first Presidential debate.

Palin did get a chance to call Biden on a number of his positions that now directly contradict positions he had taken when running against Obama in the primaries.  Biden got to attack the “Maverick” concept of McCain.

Palin did deliver partially on arguing for tapping US resources, and it was interesting to see Biden actually move towards clean coal!  But neither gives a plan we can grasp for how we get to energy independence.  McCain, because he is behind, needs to grab the reigns there and provide a clear plan, because it is a major differentiator.  He should also push getting Iraq to financially assist in the war.  We think that would kill the Obama financial justification of a fast exit strategy.

We think Obama, going forward, should be more forthright in the hows and not the what’s.  We are getting kind of sick of hearing how wrong headed Bush was, and how this is wrong and that is wrong, and this is what we are going to do differently, etc.  We want to know HOW!! Do that, and you get our vote.

Biden only had one major gaffe.  On a bill which Obama voted for, which would have raised taxes on people making as little as $42000 a year, Biden said McCain voted the same way on that bill.  McCain did not even vote on the bill.

Palin had one gaffe, getting the name of the General in Afghanistan wrong.

Palin had some problems in knowing which bills were which in some instances.  But Biden kept commenting to “go look it up”, which we find a silly debate comeback, having heard it again and again in conversations when the other party had run out of real arguments.

We think overall, Palin won.  Why?  Because she didn’t lose.  Biden has over 30 years of experience in Washington and is known for his debating skills.  Governor Palin has little exposure to this kind of debate, and yet Biden failed to convince us the Democratic ticket was the better choice.  Biden should have wiped the floor with Palin lipstick, and he gained little, if any ground.

In Retrospect, Palin Is NO NIMBY. Heroic Speech Questions Obama’s Double Speak

In her September 3rd speech accepting her selection as the Vice Presidential candidate for the Republican Party, Palin astutely stated, “U.S. reliance on imported oil poses a national security risk, and energy policy should include everything from expanding domestic drilling to finding alternative fuels”.

The Democrats appear to think we should continue to import our resources while we take decades to bring on alternative fuels, but with the NIMBY attitude of the US, that isn’t going to happen any time soon. We need to break the ecology extremists that would save a chicken at the expense of a human life. These liberals would see our economy crushed before they would stop sending huge amounts of American currency to the home of the terrorists that executed the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Palin went on, “”We need American energy resources, brought to you by American ingenuity, and produced by American workers.”

Palin showed that she has more savvy and is more cognizant of America’s situation than the Democrats which are still planning on addressing our national deficit by blocking energy advances in America and continuing to import foreign oil at huge expense.

We are NIMBY’s. It has to stop. It has to stop now. the Democrats support NIMBYism and are desperate to continue to add to our national deficit and to discourage the tapping of US resources and inherent creation of US jobs.

These policies, combined with a set of programs that would cost nearly the national deficit with no logical explanation of how to pay for them, has driven us away from Obama.

Obama has a chance to sway the moderates like us to his side, but it isn’t lying in his commercials. He has to answer several questions.

1. How do we reduce our dependency on foreign oil ASAP? We have a hint. It isn’t ethanol.

2. How do we pay for 400 billion dollars worth of Democratic programs with only what Obama states is a small tax increase on those making over $250,000?

3. How do you roll back Bush Tax Cuts without raising taxes? Aren’t raising taxes and rolling back tax cuts the exact same thing?

4. How can you say you will solve Social Security Problems by taxing people a decade from now, when you know you can’t possibly even be in office by then? Wouldn’t that just be deferring responsibility to your successor?

Those would be our questions to Obama in the debates, and we are not CBS, a pandering network in Obama’s pocket.

If you, our readers, can provide the answers to any of these questions above, we welcome your input, because we sure can’t.

Jack Cafferty and CNN in Totally Chauvinist Male Political Attack On Sarah Palin

How pathetic can these liberal news outlets get? They print total diatribe with no backing or evidence of their claims, or use other liberal outlets as their evidence.

Worse, they make irrational claims against Sarah Palin as though they had anything to do with her personally or her ability to act as Vice President.  A DUI charge as a college student??  The charge was NOT against her mind you, but her husband.  OK, here is how their logic works.

20 years ago, Palin should have never gotten married being prescient enough to know her husband would have a DUI, and she would 20 years hence be nominated as a VP Candidate.  After all Billy Clinton didn’t inhale, right??!!  And he only accepted oral sex from Monica, so he couldn’t have gotten her pregnant.  And all he did was lie to the Justice Department, while he was the freakin’ President!!

Can these reporters on the Associated Press and CNN be any bigger imbeciles?  You would think Sarah had the DUI last week and was herself pregnant with her father’s child!

And a pregnant daughter is reason for such ridiculous statements.  Is Sarah a condom?  Should she have endorsed abortion for her daughter as the liberal CNN Democrats espouse.  We are sure they would love that decision.

One of CNN’s reporters, Jack Cafferty, makes this negative one-sided liberal useless tirade against Palin.  The twisted pig logic Cafferty uses by saying her husband was once the member of a group where “SOME MEMBERS” believe in secession from the union.   That is like saying you belong to a fishing club and some people in the group believe in abortion, so that makes Sarah Palin a supporter of abortion!  It is all twisted nonsense only a liberal idiot like Cafferty could construe.

Then Jack Cafferty claims to be a liberal while making rude comments about Palin’s pregnant daughter.  We believe Cafferty a chauvinist pig that does not believe in the rights of women to their bodies or to make their own decisions regarding conception.  In fact, we believe Cafferty and CNN believe Bristol should have called him personally for advice before she conceived!

As with most liberals, they are liberal only when it is convenient for them.  Roe vs. Wade only applies to liberal women, no other women have rights.  Find one women printing this bulls**t on CNN.  Give us one.  Just men judging women!! That was liberal of you CNN.  Maybe you should change from C-N-N to P-I-G?
